The Fluid Cooler Modules mounted outdoors receive the hot water returning from the process, and operate as a Very Efficient Air-to-Water Heat Exchanger. Each one has Variable Speed Fans, to adjust capacity depending on Heat Loads and Ambient Temperatures.
When the Fans operating at 100% speed cannot supply cold water (for instance, during peak hot summer hours) the Adiabatic-SSS System kicks in. The Saturation by Atomizing Water into the Air, decreases the Air Temperature, before it enters the coils
Our Highly Engineered Adiabatic Evolution, includes a Water Atomizing Pump (1,000 PSI) to create a Fog/Haze quickly absorbed by the air.
The Green Box Fluid Coolers are fitted with the highest efficiency atomizing system available in the Market, the Adiabatic-SSS that uses less water and provides lower leaving water temperature than any other manufacturer of Adiabatic or Evaporative Fluid Coolers.
The Green Box Fluid Coolers provide to-process water below ambient temperature. They are fitted with 1,000 PSI atomizing nozzles, to assure highest air saturation during peak hot operation. This is how we can provide water temperature like Cooling Towers during hot and humid periods, or much lower water and energy usage than any other manufacturer of Fluid Coolers.
The Adiabatic-SSS Filtersthat Green Box uses are made of Polyurethane, hence they are Cleanable and Reusable. Other manufacturers of Adiabatic Fluid Coolers use paper-fiber filters (wet pad) which will decay and will need to be replaced often. Note that paper-fiber filters (wet pad) used by others, produce a continuous decrease in air-flow!
Our Filters and Coils are protected with a Stainless Steel Grille. This prevents damage from debris. Other manufacturers have exposed filters non protected.
Our Nozzlesare made of Brass, and the Adiabatic-SSS water distribution pipes are made of Stainless Steel. Other manufacturers use plastic.
Adiabatic-SSS & Self-Draining legs
The Adiabatic-SSS Pumpthat Green Box uses to atomize the water, also has two inline tap Water Filters, down to 1 micron, to protect the system. The Green Box Fluid Coolers do not require continuous water treatment, like other Fluid Cooler manufacturers.
The Green Box Self-DrainingFluid Coolersoperate in cold weather climates without Glycol. They have Freeze Protection Control, to automatically prevent damage in the system. Our Self-DrainingFluid Coolerscan operate down to ~47° F leaving water temperature (like any chiller does) without any Glycol, and without any risk of freezing-up.
During the winter period, when the ambient temperature falls below a certain level, and/or the process loads decrease, and/or the system is shut-down, and/or there is a power outage, the system will automatically drain the water outside in the Fluid Cooler and piping, to the indoors Tank, by gravity. This prevents any freeze-up damage.
The Green Box Self-Draining system is Engineered to be Simple plus Guaranteed Reliable and Fast, through dedicated draining piping. Other manufacturers drain through the Recirculation Pumps, and requiere water pressure balancing valves, certain water level in the tanks, etc... All these factors result in a slow drainage with very high risks of freezing, along equipment damage, and total loss of production, when using other manufacturers.
Also, note that some other Fluid Cooler manufactures do require glycol in their Self-Draining systems to provide Free-Cooling.

For Full Reliability and Redundancy, each component will have its own Control Panel. One Control Panel for each Fluid Cooler Module, and one for each Process Pump. All with Circuit Breakers, Thermal Overloads and Safety Electrical Disconnects. Our Stainless Steel Pumps have Delta-Y Soft-Starts. In addition, each Fluid Cooler Module will have its own Pump for this Full Reliability.
The Fluid Coolers Process Pumps have High Efficiency Motors ofclass IE2 and EFF1 to provide adequate Flow and Pressure through the cooling system.
